Social Services

Daystar Life Center of Citrus County offers various kinds of immediate assistance to county residents who are poor or homeless, or to county families with children who are struggling financially due to a verifiable crisis. As long as they meet our eligibility criteria we offer primarily food, clothing and some financial help---mostly rent or utility assistance.  Financial assistance is limited to those who have a hardship due to circumstances or conditions beyond their control and that they can sustain themselves after receiving help from us.

The Food Pantry and the Social Services Office are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., the Thrift Store from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

However, people who are seeking financial assistance must first schedule an appointment and then come to Daystar prepared with the  required documentation.

Those needing food or clothing may come without an appointment to the Social Services Office.  However, one must arrive between  9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for CLOTHING and between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for FOOD.

Daystar Life Center is closed on weekends, federal holidays, Good Friday, the week of July 4th, Thanksgiving Day weekend, and the weeks including Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Our Food Pantry is available four (4) times per MONTH per eligible individual or household.
